History

The Company has been trading for 60 years, originally as Selleck Nichols Williams (ECC) Limited. County Heating Maintenance Ltd, was established (following closure of Selleck Nicholls Williams ) in 1990 by the then Directors and staff with the aim of continuing to undertake planned maintenance and minor contract works, industrial and institutional client. Recently the current Directors acquired the majority of the share’s with the help of Finance Cornwall owning just fewer than 10%. The Company has jointly employed the current directors for over 50 years.

The Company was initially based in a small industrial unit in Bodmin before moving to our present 24.000 sq ft site at Callywith Gate on the out skirts of Bodmin adjoining the A30.

In 1997 the business of J J Walsh of Truro was acquired and the property was used as our Truro branch, with the improvements in the road systems we have recently closed this small unit.

The main our of activity covered by County Heating is in Devon and Cornwall although larger contracts have been carried out further afield. We have undertaking contracts up to £500,000 in recent years but still specialise in both small and medium size electrical and mechanical installation and service.

From an initial workforce of six the Company now employs over fifty personnel and hold certificates of appropriate bodies of which includes HVAC Gas Safe,( Corgi) and NICEIC plus ISO 9001.

The Company currently employs 45 engineers with qualifications ranging from pipe fitters, plumbers, gas engineers (commercial & domestic), service engineers, building energy management systems design & installation and electricians. All our engineers hold C.I.T.B Skill Cards and are kept up to date with any changes within Health and Safety. All engineers are CIB checked for any worked carried out where they may come into contact with minors as required by current legalisation.
