Thermal Imaging

The introduction of small hand held thermal imaging devices has started to revolutionise the electrical maintenance market.

Thermal imaging is a non contact infrared based technology which enables an engineer to analyse the heat picture of a piece of equipment.

A thermal graphic survey, when used in as part of a planned maintenance program, can be used for electrical inspections. A loose connection on a distribution board or a piece of equipment will cause an increase in resistance. As a result of this more heat will be produced and this can be revealed in an IR picture.

Faults can be identified and repaired before more serious damage occurs, saving money in downtime and costly repairs.
